Chief Matt Welch has more than three decades of law enforcement experience. He comes to Tarleton State University from the Fort Worth Police Department where he served as sergeant and supervisor of special investigations. His 28 years with FWPD included higher education experience as the police liaison with Texas Christian University, including extensive experience with sexual assault cases. He also served as a patrol training officer at FWPD.
